Overview

One of the most common developer tools around Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code has been. It is using a cross-platform Electron system from GitHub. Visual Studio Code is an open-source code editor that is fully extendable. They support a wide range of programming languages and frameworks, ranging from common C, C++, and C # to modern languages like Go, Rust, and Node.js.

What’s new in visual studio 1.47?

Visual Studio Code 1.47 launched in July 2020 carries with it the following new features and improvements

  • The default debugger for JavaScript in Visual Studio Code is now a new JavaScript debugger. Which includes the default debugger for JavaScript on the editor’s insiders version last month.
  •  You can edit non-numbered object settings from the Settings Editor. Extension writers may use this feature to make these settings more accessible.
  •  A new order, selectAndPreserveFocus, allows developers to pick an object from a list while staying centered on that list. This is useful to pick several files from a list, such as the File Explorer, without making the file editor focus switch.
  • The searchEditor.defaultNumberOfContextLines setting is changing to a value of 1 instead of 0 which means that one context line will show in the Search Editor before and after each result line.
  •  The Source Control view now shows all repositories in a single view, giving a better overview of the status of the entire workspace. You can also transfer the Source Control view into the screen. And you can shift other views to the Source Control view jar.

More new features

  • The Java Pack Installer Visual Studio Code installs Java application dependencies and extensions on macOS.
  • With simple editing support including undo, redo, remove cells and add cells, the HexEditor extension for native hexadecimal editing has been enhanced. Big file optimization, now allowing you to access files larger than 18 megabytes.
  • In the context menu, View options, and sort options consolidate into a new menu item View and Sort. Additionally, add support while using the list view option for sorting changes in the source control view by name, route, and state.
  • Compact files now correctly narrate extended/collapsed state and ARIA levels for usability in the File Explorer. Screen readers in the editor can also change the offset cursor. Consequently, the screen reader’s “Say All” command should work better when it is stopped and resumed.
  • You can now add a VSIX extension file by dragging it to the Extensions view and lowering it to it.
  •  TypeScript 3.9.6 is bundled with the editor, while TypeScript 4.0 support has been enhanced, with features. Such as enhanced auto imports. TypeScript 3.9.6 is bundled with the editor, while TypeScript 4.0 support has been enhancing, with features such as enhanced auto imports.

Conclusion

Visual Studio’s integrating development platform is an innovative launchpad to edit, test, and create code and then publish an app. In addition to the standard editor and debugger offered by most of the IDEs, Visual Studio provides compilers, code completion tools, graphic designers, and many more features to make the software development process much easier.
